Behind the scenes of creating FULLY SEEN visuals…
Somehow you found your way to our website and if that was through a fun image of us then viola… the magic worked.
Let me share with you a little bit about the magic of intention and how to make the best with what we have.
For the launch of our website the things we just didn’t get around to finish or procrastinated the most with was our very own revealing (duh! of course!) on our team page here.
What was missing where images of us as a team and a personal text about our individual motivation. (Some are still working on that one… thihiii). Anyhow, so part of that procrastination for me was resistance in form of perfectionism. I thought we needed a really awesome brand concept and though I could very well tune in and translate my own essence… however as a group that has just come together in this setting, I didn’t really had a vision yet.
So what did I do to move things along despite the resistance?
- First off, I set a launch date. A deadline. Well, you know as a creative you work best in the hours before the deadline!!! Am I right? So choosing a nearby deadline is a wise creative choice.
- Because of the lack of time and conceptualized ideas I let go of any pre-made visions and images and instead we just picked the last possible sunny day and went for an outing to have fun together and see what was happening naturally.
- Playfulness and enjoying our time together soon became our priority and the “shoulds” and “would-be-greats” became less… instead we followed the natural creative wave created by the 3 of us, easing our way in front of the camera by allowing ourselves to being hilariously weird, making faces, using things we found on the way that in the end fit just perfectly as essential symbols; like this rescue ring for Markus and a LOVE sticker with a cool graphic for Uli. And then the guys declared my little starry suitcase in which I carry accessories and crystals and feathers and pencils etc. as my iconic magic suitcase. The cosmic traveller… so me!
In the end our photo session felt like a day of vacation with amazing weather. We rested when we felt tired and we played when we felt like that. In the end we had a great deal of fun!
We didn’t get the images we had in mind… and even after viewing the gazillion of images the day after, each one had their judgments on themselves but liked the other’s images … oh well… self-love takes time!
But then the magic creative cauldron was stirred with a lighthouse wand (a reference to the location we picked … one of the only things previously envisioned – a lighthouse for guidance and radiance… though the actual lighthouse looked more like a stick instead of a house) and out came what you may have seen posted for our launch in social media.
This is how intuitive magic works: We had an intention to produce images for our team page, we let go any concepts and just started playing with what showed up on our way, we gave ourselves the freedom to explore and be seen in whatever showed up… which was a lot of JOY! In the end that is exactly what we (or at least I had) wished to transmit to you… The joy of playful transformation to be seen in images that speak for itself.
